ACTA Agreement leaked!

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is a proposed plurilateral trade agreement which is claimed by its proponents to be in response "to the increase in global trade of counterfeit goods and pirated copyright protected works." The scope of ACTA is broad, including counterfeit physical goods, as well as "internet distribution and information technology".

In October 2007 the United States, the European Community, Switzerland and Japan announced that they would negotiate ACTA. Furthermore the following countries have joined the negotiations: Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and the European Union. The ACTA negotiations have been conducted in secrecy until on 22 May 2008 when a discussion paper about the proposed agreement was uploaded to Wikileaks, and newspaper reports about the secret negotiations quickly followed.

Negotiations were originally anticipated to conclude by the end of 2008, however in November 2008 the European Commission stated that negotiations were likely to continue in 2009. The next (sixth) of negotiations was hosted by the Republic of Korea in Seoul on November 4 to 6, 2009. At the fifth round of negotiations, in Morocco in July 2009, participants indicated their intention was to conclude the agreement "as soon as possible in 2010". According to New Zealand ACTA would "establish a new international legal framework" and "the goal of ACTA is to set a new, higher benchmark for intellectual property rights enforcement that countries can join on a voluntary basis."

Critics argue ACTA is part of a broader strategy of venue shopping and policy laundering employed by the trade representatives of the US, EC, Japan, and other supporters of rigid intellectual property enforcement. This strategy entails negotiating for terms in international treaties that might prove too politically unpopular to pass in national assemblies. Similar terms and provisions currently appear in the World Customs Organization draft SECURE treaty, and critics have argued that the anticircumvention provisions of Title I of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act were similarly passed after policy laundering via treaties negotiated through the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Participants in The 6th Round of negotiations on Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement Seoul, November 4-6, 2009 reaffirmed their commitment to continue their work with the aim of concluding the agreement as soon as possible in 2010. Participants in the meeting also agreed that the next meeting - The 7th Round of negotiations - would be hosted by Mexico in January 2010. This next meeting will possibly be held at the end of January 2010 according to Mexican IMPI. According to this article, the meeting is to take place "tentatively during the week of January 25, 2010"

Romblon State University

Sadyang mahirap ba makakuha ng trabaho?(hinde madali lng kaso hinde pang IT)

CPROXY + PROXIFIER INTERNET ACCELERATOR

First and furmost, this is not free but its cheaper.
Things needed:
  1. Broadband (Smart / Globe / Sun)
  2. CProxy
  3. Proxifier

CProxy
is a
a Windows based software solution that provides a single point of contact between your network and the Internet. Essentially, CProxy removes your office-based from direct contact with the outside world and creates an additional level of security and control known as a 'firewall'.

CProxy supports all of the common Internet protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, HTTP FTP, FTP, Newsgroups, SOCKS and many more. Custom port maps can be created for increased flexibility. Auditing, Accounting and Content Control ensure that users cannot access undesirable content and all activity on the Internet is logged.

Download CProxy

The installation of CPROXY system is executed by running the file CPSETUP_EN.EXE. The installation is very simple. It is fully developed in English, is managed even by users with no experience, and therefore we don’t consider as necessary to describe it in detail.

After the CPROXY application has been successfully ran and installed, you will find the CPROXY system’s icon in the system tray on the main panel of the Start Menu of your Microsoft Windows system.

Now it is important to accomplish the basic settings for CPROXY. After right clicking on the CPROXY icon, you will see a context menu (see the picture) in which you will select the option Display. It will show you a window to set CPROXY in which you will find the user’s information in the Settings section. If you are already registered , choose user ID and enter the data you received through email after the registration process in the right fields. If you are not registered, choose try demo account and you will be able to use CPROXY with certain limitations in a DEMO version. Press Apply to save your settings. This will end the initial setting of CPROXY system. Now you can try your upgraded usage of the Internet.

According to your requirements about the operation of all services from your connection to the Internet through CPROXY, execute the right settings.

Setting your browser

If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, everything will be set automatically by choosing the option „Automatic settings“ (see figure). If you do not want to use CPROXY for some of the listed connections you can set it by using this option.

In case you are using any of the alternative browsers (Mozilla, Opera, FireFox, etc.) you must manually set your browser to use HTTP proxy at the address 127.0.0.1, port 3128 and SOCKS4 proxy at the address 127.0.0.1, port 9000.

Mozilla
You may find the settings in "Mozilla -> Edit -> Preferences... -> Advanced -> Proxies", see figure:

Opera
You may find the settings in "Opera -> Tools -> Preferences... -> Network -> Proxy servers", see figure:

FireFox
You may find the settings in "FireFox -> Tools -> Options... -> Advanced -> Network -> Connection -> Settings...", see figure:

Proxifier is a program that lets you use SOCKS4 with CPROXY.
In the Philippines, Smart and Globe Network doesn't allow you to use SOCKS if you have no load/balance. But with Proxifier, it will let you use Socks!
